subject: XP: Multiple different default gateways for home or office?

From: Randall Parker

How to make XP maintain multiple different sets of TCP/IP settings for different
networks that one plugs the same laptop into at different times? Each time it is
plugging in via ethernet. But since the gateway machines are at different
IP addresses each time it goes to one of a few places we have to change the
default
gateway.

Some way to avoid that?

It'd be nice to have those settings and the DNS ip address settings to be changeable
together between different saved named configurations.

Am I missing some obvious correct simple way to do that?

Ditto for file sharing btw. The workgroup name is different at different sites. Can
one belong to multiple domain names? There's no master computer passing out info at
any of these sites.
