Try changing the fuel filter at the carb. Had simular problems with a sb
chevy that I put in a 83 toyota 4x4. It would stall on me then once I
waited a little bit it would run fine for a few miles and die again. That
little fuel filter ended up costing me $40 for a tow to a town before I
finally figured it out. I had one of those seethrough filters and it
looked fine. Once I got rid of the filter element it ran fine for me the
rest of the trip.
