Yes, it makes sense that the images needed to be slowed down and that the
tricorder didn't have the power or programming to do that. It's still a
little fishy that they had the correct images. The "focal point"
stuff was not well explained. Edith Keeler is a focal point in the very
loose sense that her life or death has a major impact on history. But that
doesn't really explain why time travelers should be drawn towards her.
Unless the Guardian deliberately sent McCoy to her, and then deliberately
sent Kirk and Spock to the same place. And it still doesn't quite make
sense that they'd have a movie of someone looking at the newspaper page.
Are we to believe that Spock recorded everything that happened in the
entire world (he mentioned having to sort through the images)? Or did he
only record images pertaining to Edith Keeler, or what? Was the entire
newspaper for that day and every day in Spock's tricorder, viewed from a
short distance?
