Hmm... I have not tried the fax reception - so you are probably right (fax 
transmission works here).

Yes, I can remember you have mentioned it before... According to the release 
notes for firmware version 1.10 version 1.08 and 1.09 contains a dialtone 
detection bug when used with some telco switchs. Version 1.10 fixes this 
problem (at least for the telco switch my phone line is connected to).
