I'm relieved to hear someone else say that, I'm glad I'm not in the
boat by myself. I used to be amused at the older guys when I could
read a whole page over their shoulder before they were half through.
Now! I understand.
And the spelling; I can't figure out where that skill went! Same
place the grammar went, I guess. In the last couple of years, I
have regained some of my typeing speed, but my accuracy is awful.
I had a close, and respected friend who always said that a man could
learn new things all his life, but that our heads are like a bucket,
and after forty, it's full. You can always pour more into it, but
that when you do, something has to run out.
I suppose I've spent too many years pouring over schematics and
circuit boards and with the day to day tasks of running a TV shop.
I quit reading anything other than technical material years ago,
during that time, I just didn't have time for it, what with twelve
to sixteen hour days in the shop. One day I woke up and a bunch
of my communication's skills were gone.
Since I've slowed down some, and taken up computers, I've slowly
begun regain a few, but I have to refer to my dictionay often.

QB4.5 is really my bag. I like the PDS environment but haven't
learned all the new PDS features. I've had it a for a while but
haven't gotten serious with it. I just got VB lately, and have
barely looked it.
I just started working with HTML this past weekend and it looks like
it will be a piece of cake. I'm trying to come up with a personal
home page. I can't decide on a theme. I've thought of personal
things and have loaded pictures of the grandchildren into my local
copy just to see what it would look like, and the page does look neat,
but I really don't want to put their pictures on the net.
I've thought about the programming theme, and the TV shop theme,
but we already have a commercial page for our computer consulting
business, so I'm in linbo with the WEB page for now.

Is there any way to choose to not read these messages @ login, and then
later have them d/l along with the QWK package? For example, what
if I choose to (I)gnore the message? Would I get it in the QWK packet?
I've now got my script coded to handle two inline messages, (provided
no bugs), but if I could skip reading on line and pick them up in
a d/l, I think I would rather do that. That way, they would be in my
message base, rather than as separate files on disk, and coding would
be a little less messy on this end.
I'm getting kind'a wordy here and it's getting late so I'll chop it off
for now.
BTW, thanks for the visiting sysop status upgrade.
