I've got a Mac clone, what's the next best thing to Digidesign's
protools? I've got about $1k to spend on a Digital audio Workstation,
and I don't have an audio card (other than the one that came with my
mac). Can protools work sufficiently w/out any additional hardware?
How does MOTU's Digital performer compare? Any info would be great.. I
really want to buy within the next couple of weeks. I've been leaning
more towards Performer, but mostly because what I've read about
Protools, is that it will probably end up costing much more than a grand
just to get some results.
Thanks!
