Even so, the M34F takes (or was taking) a hell of a lot longer to hang up
than either the Viper or the USR.  As long as 10-12 seconds after receipt
of the incoming packet, in many cases.  At STD rates, that costs money.

I expect it to be perfect with anything OTHER than a Spirit though.  And so
far, it has been - no failed V.32bis calls at all.

Tried 21600, but the same thing happened (see the stats).  Currently
running V.34 14400 (at Paul's request), and although the first connect was
fine, the negotiation took almost twice as long as it does with V.32bis
(for the same speed).

Doubt it, but easily proved by disabling the top 2 link rates in the Courier.
