nope. Linux is just another "flavour" of unix.

Actually it's reversed, Linux is the operating system, X-windows is the fancy
interface...:)

Like above, linux is the operating system, but it can also give you a limited
"DOS" shell using "dosemu".

Considering, that most of the internet is unix based (and a lot of that is
linux)...massive support.

There it's time to either get a good book, like "linux unleashed" or once it
is installed, use the manual function to read up on the online help. example:
"man ls". "ls" is the linux version of "dir".
