Hello Tom -

TW>>> It is also used in the Film Industry. It usualy referes
TW>>> to the "White" light temperature. And it is expressed in
TW>>> Deg K As an example my perfered Cool White Fluroscent
TW>>> Lamps are rated at 4100K Even most Home Incidencent Lamps
TW>>> have a "Temperature Rating" on the Box.

->> How many people look for 'temperature' when they purchase a
->> bulb?

TW> At least ONE, ME. It is related to Brightness. The higher
TW> the Color Temperature the Brighter the bulb appears. Some
TW> look at it because of other factors. As an example in a
TW> Dentists office they look for a particualr color
TW> temperature in their lighting to properly match teeth
TW> coloring when setting you up for Dentures or Caps.

Incandescent light that more closely resembles sunlight would
be a good idea? When making dentures the teeth are colored by
age groups and a reputable dentist won't put 'chicklettes' into
the mouth of a person too old to have teeth that white.

->> I realize that the decision to apply 'temperature' to color
->> was not made here at FIDO but reasonable people can grasp
->> the fact that there is no 'temperature' that would apply to
->> color in any meaningful way. Sorry but this is what we used
->> to call poppy-cock. I reserve the right to reject
->> nonsensical terminology.

TW> Actualy it is a Standard Scientific Term and is Well
TW> founded in Theroy.

Maybe it's just me?
