OK, Richard. Here goes. Saturday, I only had about 45 minutes to ride
(I work nights), and I decided to go to the wall for the first 2 miles.
Big mistake. I should've known better. So I had to push my bike up a
couple of hills coming back. I did, however, really shred on the killer
single track on the way out. Plus, I ride at a local university, and
they are clearing trees for new dorms. No problem, really. But the
change in the landscape changed the direction of the water runoff.
You guessed it. Right across the trail. Now we have a mud bog, and that
goo does NOT come off, period. So, I'm carrying two pounds of mud on my
rig, about to barf 'cause I thought I was a stud, pushin' that bike
uphill, and wondering just what the hell I was doing out there. I mean,
I gotta be at work in an hour. Jeez, man!

What a pain.
Wouldn't have traded it for the world.
Sling a little dirt for me.
