subject: Area Lists

Hello All.

Does anybody know how far the Fidonet Technical Standars go in files, that
are not directly connected to the mail formats.

Specifically I'm thinking about the arealist format. When I want to get a
list of the area s to which I can connect, I write a message to my node
like this:

----------------
From
To Gecho
Subj.

%List
----------------

And then I get a message in Netmail with the areas to which I'm able to
connect. The message comes to me in netmail and have a format like this:

----------------

 MUSIC INTL þ Music
 MUSIKTEKNIK_R23.PUB FIDO þ Teknisk musik-konference
 MYSTIK_R23.PUB FIDO þ Mystik
+NET_DEV INTL þ FidoNet Developers
 NEWFILES_R23.PRO FIDO þ Nye filer i Danmark
 NOVELL INTL þ Novell
 OPLYSNING_R23.PUB FIDO þ Officielle oplysninger
 OS2 INTL þ OS/2
 OS2-DOSWIN_R23.PUB FIDO þ OS/2 Dos- & Windows

----------------

The areas to which I'm already connected is prefixed with a '+'.

How much standard is this way of doing things? The thing I want to do, is
making program that is working with this netmail message I get, but I dont
know if it is a good idea to rely on this format as a standard.

Christian
