But Mike, you missed using a hardware firewall, preferably one with
Stateful Packet Inspection. Hook that into your system and most of your
problems disappear.
I recently had a Windows 2000 meltdown which took me four days to fix and
even though at various times my software firewall and my anti-virus program
were disconnected, I had no problems.
