Hello, Roy. -=> ROY J. TELLASON wrote to CHARLES ANGELICH <=- RJT> Indeed. I tend to think of email as a text medium, and get rather RJT> irritated at those who default to presenting them in HTML. I was about to say that even more annoying are those emails which have embedded links to the internet, where you have to be online to see the pix. - - but I don't want all those image files cluttering up my hard drive. But these days, emails are often much more than just a text medium - - I think our daughter must use Outlook for emails - she sometimes sends us emails where there is a jpg or gif file embedded within the text of the email. I don't mind those, esp if it is a pic of the grandkids :-D. I also get some emails with PowerPoint Script files attached. There is a PPS reader available for download at Microsoft website. I think it is kinda neat to run those and see a "slideshow". I've emailed to your new addy a sample of an email with an animated (gif) attachment - - They can probably also have sound, but I haven't ever bothered to install a soundcard on this particular machine. I think the most annoying emails I get are those where the msg has been forwarded thru a chain of previous senders and nobody could figger out how to save and reattach the attachment, and you have to go down through about 8 different levels of sender's stuff before you can finally get to the attachment. My wife seems to get a _lot_ of those from her old school chums - - - mostly AOL users. - - - JimH. ... Good old days?
