Geez you guys are slack! I saw the first message, and figured someone in
Z1 would have done something about it. When the second message came along
I decided to follow the instructions.
SS> For more information please consult these files: BOFAQxxx.TXT and
SS> ELISTxxx.ZIP, where "xxx" is the version number. They are
available from
SS> most hubs or can be requested from 1:1/200, 1:1/201, 1:283/120 or 1:396/1.
I FREQed from 1:396/1, and got two copies of everything, or I would have if
I hadn't aborted. Hey John, wouldn't it be a good idea to give a magic
name here? Anyway, you don't actually need the BOFAQ at all, all you need
is the ELIST one.
Anyway, if my message was in the correct format and before anyone from Z1,
NET_DEV should be listed again (it's actually ALREADY deleted at the
moment), with me as the moderator. You can expect as many moderator
messages from me as whoever the previous moderator was. :-)
Oh, there was one other thing of note, if there is less than 5
messages/month, the echo gets dropped from the backbone. I expect some of
those internetters will be popping in every now and again to tell us we are
dead, so that should help the traffic situation. And if that doesn't work,
there's always the good old:
TEARLINES ARE CONTROL LINES JUST LIKE SEENBY
CRCS ARE A GOOD WAY TO DO MSGIDS
ORIGIN LINES ARE OPTIONAL
TEARLINES ARE MANDATORY
VALID DATES ARE OPTIONAL
PID IS NOT MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE WITH NON-EMPTY TEARLINES
THE FTSC IS DEAD - LONG LIVE THE FTSC
MSGIDS ARE PRIMARILY FOR ADDRESSING INFO
BTW, can you believe it? When you're sending messages to this Z1 address,
you have to use a MSGID according to the documentation, in order for it to
get addressing info! Gone are the good old days of INTL + FMPT as
documented in FTS-1?!
BFN. Paul.
