>JM> Frank, The numbers I have seen from a tracking program indicate that
>JM> almost 85% of the people are using Windows 95 or Windows 3.x or Windows
>JM> NT. Macintosh users are at about 2.5%. The users that hit our web pages
>JM> and are using OS/2 are at .22%. I have found a work around so the
izard
>JM> can run in Win-OS/2 session, and I have posted it here. I loved OS/2
>JM> when I ran my BBS at home. It was very stable, and the multi-tasking
as
>JM> fantastic. But to develop a application for a OS that it's own creators
>JM> have pulled development for would not make economic sense.

Well, Jeff,
Do you think the low count of OS/2 users may be simply because they
don't want to jump through hoops to upgrade the load in their Couriers?
I'm an OS/2 user, with 8 Couriers in operation, and I've learned long
ago to simply visit the "ftp.usr.com/pub/usr/dl05/" and grab the latest SDL.
It's much faster than trying to get web access, especially when your site is
plugged with people trying to get the newest loader in the first day of it's
release. And I also don't have to put up with some program deciding to dial
long distance from here to Skokie, most likely at peak rates. Sure in the US
phone rates are cheap, but calling from Canada, well that's about a buck a
minute or possibly more during peak times. This may not be much, but a buck
here and a buck there sure add up very fast.
And I can state emphatically, that despite the stories from the windoze
camp, OS/2 is neither out of production, nor no longer supported. I'd say
that you owe OS/2 an apology for that bit of mis-information.
