SD> Since I'm an on-again, off-again member of the TG community, I'd like
SD> to post this question to you all (or rather a request for your
 SD> opinions):
SD> To be frank, I'm having problems running my BBS as it is right now.
SD> I'm working currently 90 hours a week or more at two full-time jobs,
SD> plus doing net development, computer repair and other stuff on the
 SD> side.
SD> I had an offer from Dan Shaurette, the author of the Gothik BBS door

SD> help me by becoming my co-sysop. Now, normally, this would be
SD> something I'd pshaw at, but right now, I'm extremely overwhelmed. I
SD> carry a lot on my BBS plate, but a majority of it is the mail moving,
 SD> which is working well.
SD> I'm running Maximus/2 currently and it's presented two problems so far
SD> to me: 1) it keeps dropping carrier on people for seemingly no reason.
 SD> I've double-checked and triple-checked (in some cases, even
SD> quadruple-checked) my configurations of all software involved, but
SD> there has been no cure for it yet and 2) since Maximus's configuration
SD> is entirely text-based, it's hell to have a sysop work on it from
 SD> remote.
SD> So, I am considering possibly (and with what I have to move over, it
SD> would be no small task) moving back to Telegard/2 because it cures the
SD> two major problems I'm having with my BBS. Not only is it rock-solid,
SD> I can also allow others to work on the BBS via remote.

SD> But (this is for TG/2 sysops!) TG/2 is refusing to work right with
SD> VModem and I'm stumped. It's taking TG/2 about 5 seconds to see that
SD> a caller has disconnected and to get the modem reset. I'm thinking
SD> it's in my configuration settings somewhere (I do have a test copy of
SD> TG/2 set up). Does anyone using TG/2 have a good working modem (for
SD> VModem) configuration I could see and peruse?
SD> I know my reputation for switching software makes me rather notorious
SD> in the BBS world, but this time, I really, honestly face the choice of
SD> making enough changes to have someone help me run it or permanently
SD> shut down my BBS (not the mail) due to lack of time to watch it
 SD> constantly.
SD> I'd appreciate comments. However, if they're snide or facetious,
SD> please don't bother. I've no need nor am I in the mood for it. I've
SD> been working this much for nearly two months now and it has shortened
SD> my fust to about 1/16 of an inch.

Thought the way you were going ...you were going to ask
about the co-sysop if and should you. But that
decision is made. But as to TG/2 can't help ya other
than reference the help list and get help from there
or the FAQs. I think there is at least still one
more os/2er on the help list.
