FIVE days! I'd have died if it lasted that long. There WERE places
around here who were without power for 4 days or so; we were lucky ours
came on sooner than that. I've been considering a generator, just in
case. I know it will happen again--we lose power at least once a year.
This latest time was the first it's ever happened in cold weather,
however.
When we lost power last summer, it was so hot in here we almost lost a
baby Jenday who was in a brooder; she overheated and began to pant, and
her crop slowed way down. We had to put ICE in the brooder to save her
life. A generator-run fan would have solved the problem then, just as a
space heater would have helped so much last week.
JT>birds were REALLY loud when we finally came home, too.  I had been

My gang was just glad to see light again! The tiels sang the entire day,
until the lights finally went off for bedtime. They started up the next
morning before the lights came back on, soon as the sun started to come
up! They've been incredibly sweet to me since, too...go figure!
