subject: JPG -- TXT naming

DD> I have a collection of JPG files and I would like to have a separate
DD> .TXT file associated with each of them. For example if I have a
DD> directory containing 1.jpg, 2.jpg, 3.jpg, how would I also create a set
DD> of files (preferably empty) in that directory that are named 1.txt,
DD> 2.txt, 3.txt that are less than 1 or 2 bytes each in size?

for x in *.jpg do (>%{at}name[%x].txt)
:: works with dos, should with os/2

DD> Also, is there a way to convert a directory containing filenames in
DD> upper and lower case into filenames that are only uppercase? I'm
DD> running Warp 4 with 4OS2/32 Version 2.5 and 4DOS Ver 4.02.

try this:
for x in (*.*) do ren %x %{at}upper[%x]
if that fails try this:
for x in (*.*) do ( ren %x $rentemp.$$$ %+ ren $rentemp$$$ %{at}upper[%x])

I can't remember when %+ was introduced for the command separator, you may
need to use ^ or whatever instead.
