SDD is a third-party display driver package, made by SciTech Software. The
one package works for all supported chipsets, which right now includes the
vast majority of new ones, and a slew of older ones.
It's based on a set of core drivers, which are exactly the same across
platforms.
The long-range utility of this driver package is that since they're updating
their core drivers for all platforms (including Windows), OS/2 will never
be without drivers for new graphics adapters.
IBM has already sign a license agreement with SciTech to put their drivers
(a basic version, without all the gizmos that buying them would get you) up
for download by OS/2 users, when they are out of beta, and pass IBM's
quality tests.
