One of my neighbors had a woman living with her who was handicapped.
She said so!
(She had lost both lower legs to diabetes.)

What is the "PC" term nowadays? Oh right, "physically
challenged."

I like teasing my Mom who is a foot shorter than I am, I say she's
"vertically challenged."
She gets a kick out of the "PC" terms we come up with.

"One "PC" term I saw was "developmentally
challenged." Oh yeah.
When was growing up we called them "retarded."

It wasn't an insult, it was just a descriptive term.

My former neighbor liked to call me "melanin challenged."
(I'm white, and he was black.)

Some terms we don't use anymore for good reasons, they are simply insults.

"Nigger." (That includes Robert Byrd using "white nigger.")

"Cripple." (Although seeing the moral cripple Dick Cheney in a wheelchair
yesterday, well...)
