RJT>RJT>What goes wrong with these things? Any of you guys ever been
into them?

RJT>RJT>I notice over where the carriage (?) in there sits, where the
RJT>RJT>light bulb is, it's getting kinda warm. That normal? What kind of
RJT>RJT>a light bulb is that in there anyhow? Easy to find a replacement
RJT>RJT>if I need one?

RJT>JE> The flat bed scanners I have been into use a fluorescent bulb which
RJT>JE> is a specific color temperature. I bought replacements at a lamp
RJT>JE> supply house nearby.

RJT>I'm wondering if maybe that's part of the problem?

RJT>I was lacking red in the images I generated yesterday, now I'm
lacking green?
RJT>It was stone cold when I turned it on, though. Maybe there's some power
RJT>supply part that's not regulating properly, or something of that sort.

RJT>Anybody know how these things switch colors?

I do not believe they "switch" colors. If the wrong color temperature
(should be 5000 degrees Kelvin) bulb is installed the colors will be
off. Also, most scanners I have seen have a built in delay for a warm up
time. PS, of course would be a possibility.
