Do you have a copy of the original video release of Bambi? I have it from
about 6 years ago when it was released. The back of the box says it has
digitally re-mastered audio and video, and it's in HiFi stereo. *Now*, on
TV, ads say the *new* release was again fully restored. You can only restore
something so much! There's a certain point where you just can't enhance
something that's already so perfect. I'd be really curious to see if here is
any detectable difference between the 1991 release of Bambi on video, and the
1997 release (other than the box art, and that little 15 minute documentary
at the end describing the restoral process). The 1991 release of Bambi was
gorgeous, and with fully redigitized video, I can't see how it could be
improved for it's current release. So I think the TV ad is hype to encourage
sales. If anyone has anything to the contrary to report, please do!
