The good news is that I have some S-registers that I can try my
end, to attempt to fix both Bill and Dieter's calls.  I won't
try them out yet though, until Bill finds out what speed he can
operate at with the current settings.  Anyway, here's the stuff
to think about...

 S9    1-255  06      Carrier Response Time - 100 ms
 
I was thinking of Dieter here.
 
 S62   0-255  75      V.42 detection phase timeout - 10 ms
 
And Bill here. 

On closer inspection, I don't think S9 will help any.  BFN.  Paul.
