Hi Rod,

This is the Maestro, and once again, no compression was negotiated.  I
would therefore suspect that Mike has disabled V.42bis at his end. 
Interesting also that whilst the line levels were much the same as on Line
1, the connect was negotiated without difficulty, even though the Rx levels
were VERY BAD.

Too small a sample to say anything positive, but after 3 failed attempts to
the Hayes, it would seem that the Maestro is a better modem from a sysop's
POV, especially when the remote is a USR.
