1237d50194ec tech Hello Pascal - --8<--cut PS> I think it is very good that open source browser such as PS> Mozilla or Firebird (or Konqueror or ...) exist. That way, PS> the knowledge required to build one is not locked property PS> of some company that may or may not be trustworthy. Hey, if PS> it were to belong to a company, it would even be possible PS> that the knowledge got lost somehow... That actually has happened in at least one well known application. WATTCP has been used by DOS programmers for quite some time and parts of it included into other software. One of the included 'examples' of it's use has been modified by a half-dozen 'maintainers' over the years and at some point a few lines of code were 'lost'. It continues to work minus one critical function that these lines of code had supplied at the start which makes people using it think it is _their_ fault since this DID work at one time. No one reads the RFCs nor does a detailed examination of the source code even though it is readilly available and the arugments as to why it does not work properly rage on and on (for years now). Someone was careless when writing the code to a file, released it to the public erasing the 'older' versions, and now that part of the code is not in there and it will _never_ work 100% as it is. :-) > > , , > o/ Charles.Angelich \o , > __o/ > / > USA, MI < \ __\__ ___ * ATP/16bit 2.31 * ...
