>>> Hal White on "Biological Consciousness
-> WE>The universal concern is 'no opinion'.
HW> I'm not sure I follow. Who has 'no opinion.'? Are you saying
HW> you have 'no opinion' as to whether the universe 'cares.'
Nobody, as the universe ain't anybody. I have no opinion only in so much as
there is no perceivable universal opinion. As for my own wishes, I have much
opinion which vary some from age to age.
-> WE> Collectively the universe has little no concern.
HW> I wonder how one gets into the position of being able
HW> to make that statement. But no, the clouds do not weep
HW> tears {rain} when you start missing your lost dog.
There's little of the human fungus about the galaxy and the only know culture
is situated in a location reknown for mass extinction.
HW> All of this gets back to the question, is the universe
HW> a friendly {to humans, beasts, plants} place? And does this question
HW> has any meaning?
Yes, it is, at least here at home. Everywhere else there's the great
indifference. It has great meaning for us as long as we don't it mess up.
