| subject: | DosOpen - Locality |
I am wondering how much the locality flag affects performance when using DosOpen for subsequent DosQFileInfo. I don't actually read anything from the file, just level 1 or level 2 info query. When does one use DosOpen with no Locality. Would this flag affect cache/buffer use? If one opened for mainly sequential access, then would you get fewer & larger cache/buffers .vs. opening random access which would give you more & smaller bufffers. When requesting no cache to be used for DosOpen, does the Locality flag even do anything?
