I finally got that scanner working again,  having resolve the software
issues that were a problem here.

The issue I'm looking at now is that the stuff it's scanning doesn't look
right.  If I select line art,  or grayscale,  it's fine.  If I try and
scale a color image,  it seems to be lacking,  particularly red,  orange, 
and yellow colors...

What goes wrong with these things?  Any of you guys ever been into them?

I notice over where the carriage (?) in there sits,  where the light bulb
is,  it's getting kinda warm.  That normal?  What kind of a light bulb is
that in there anyhow?  Easy to find a replacement if I need one?
