Rod, at 12:01 on Nov 26 1996, you wrote to Bill Grimsley... BG> Replacement tuners can be had for under $50 now... RG> Truth be known, this fault is prolly a leaky cap in the RG> DC-DC converter or the IF can, rather than the tuner. The 10uF cap does go leaky on some models, but 486's are not noted for this, so my money is still on the tuner being faulty. AWL>> Still on original heads... BG> You're lucky then. Most have been replaced by now. RG> I still find this odd, 'cos I can count the number of sharp RG> heads that I've had to replace (from wear) on both hands. The only Sharp video heads which appear NOT to last forever are those which are fitted to the VC-486 (still-frame goes first). :( Regards, Bill --- MsgedSQ/2 3.50* Origin: Logan City, SEQ (3:640/305.9) SEEN-BY: 50/99 620/243 623/630 640/201 305 450 820 821 822 823 829 711/409 SEEN-BY: 711/413 430 808 809 934 712/515 610 713/317 714/906 800/1 @PATH: 640/305 820 711/409 808 934 |
