I wonder if that max rating is for continuous use,  intermittent use, 
what's safe to break the connection,  or something else?  I guess if you
really wanted to load it down,  you could use more than one wire...

How much current does a typical headlight draw,  anyway?  I'm thinking that
a sealed beam with one of two filaments burned out might be handy.  Tail
lights aren't that heavy a draw,  and I think a stop light is only going to
something like 4A or so,  but it's been a while since I measured any of
that stuff.
