-=> Quoting Joe Kovacs to Walter Luffman <=-
JK> These days, when you phone a tech support or
JK> sales person, their 'puter displays your
JK> name, phone number and address as they say
JK> Hello, before you've said anything. It gets
JK> this information using Caller ID, basically
JK> from those phone number directory CDs.
Or he might have called up my "case" (whatever that means)
by the number I had entered from my touch-tone pad earlier.
JK> I'll bet a virtual coffee and donut that
JK> the K56flex folks and your ISP are working just
JK> as hard as USR/3Com to get V90 on his equipment.
JK> That's what service and the V90 standard are
JK> all about, of course. So V90's prolly on there
JK> now, just waiting for you.
Oh, how I wish you were right -- I just received my
enable-key and can now upgrade to X2 and V.90.
Unfortunately, my ISP's tech support still says they
don't know when they'll receive the V.90 uprade for
their Ascend (K56flex) routers.
Maybe I'll test my upgrade by calling a BBS I know
that uses a Courier I-modem....
