An excellent point, the word PUBLICLY. I am also a conference
moderator, (LAW_&_ORDER) and never go public unless someone posts something
blatantly stupid/wrong/offensive or a similar situation that -requires- a
public response. Practically burned up the phone bill with one twit once...
Crashmail can get expsnsive... :(
Now, back to topic:
Addressing this to anyone in a similar situation: my daughter as I
mentioned in the previous message is 13 1/2 and a victim of Fetal Alcohol
Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy (ataxic) and is ADHD, as a result of drinking and
drug abuse by her birthmother along with little/no prenatal care. She's done
pretty well in school until the last year or two (she started late, and is in
7th grade now) but for the last couple seems to be hitting the limits of her
abilities far earlier than I had hoped for. She seems to have all the energy
of a sandbag at times.... not caring if she goes to school, gets up during
the day, or anything. We've had her checked out medically (She contracted
mono last year, so we had her checked again THIS year) and there is no
medical reason for it. Her teachers are exceptional, sending home worksheets
that are not done (now even MAILING/E-Mailing them to me to be SURE I get
them!) so she can try and catch up. But she just seems to be slipping...
Anyone in a similar situation with ideas on what to do that might get
her back on track, catch her interest, or help in any way is encouraged to
reply! Wild Guesses are equally welcome...
