RB> Well BoB you had me sucked in. As I read your message I RB> thought, "this man knows his stuff" and I was believing RB> everything you said. Then God.... Sorry Rod, Shot you down in RB> flames. Oh well, It happens to the worst of us. I don't read Rod, so it doesn't bother me. He is excellent if he can quote someone else's information verbatim, but he knows nothing himself and he often gets it crossed up. The difference between me and Rod is that I know what I don't know, and I say so... BL> A modem is fiendishly clever. Perhaps RodS can tell you better; BL> I don't know the actual protocols, but it's a bit like colour BL> TV. You have to realise that I was describing this to Paul, who had just admitted he did not have a clue what a dB was, and I was trying to make it as simple as possible while giving him a feel for it. As for Rod shooting me down in flames; I assume you misunderstood him. He hasn't so far, and is never likely to. He sounds good, though, until you actually try to use his information to *do* something. A small warning... if you find yourself thinking that Rod really knows his stuff... get a proper education. He is excellent on known protocols and data books, though. Regards, Bob ___ Blue Wave/QWK v2.12 @EOT: ---* Origin: Precision Nonsense, Sydney (3:711/934.12) SEEN-BY: 711/934 |
