Hi Marilyn,
MB>I wonder where I'd find it in the first place. I've never heard
MB>of it before. Is Stevia part of the scientific name? Though I
MB>have too many things that grow like weeds, namely weeds! I
MB>don't mind dill popping up here and there, but don't want
MB>something that spreads like mint.
I'm not sure how fast it spreads. Terry sometimes exaggerated, but
even so, I suspect stevia in a pot is a lot different from stevia
in the ground. I'd sink a plant into a pail with the bottom cut out
just in case. :-)
With the increase in sun strength, my cutting is growing robust.
Its parent sent up so many new shoots that the leaves are much
smaller. Time to take more cuttings.
My original plant cost $10 from Richter's Herbs at Goodwood, Ontario.
If you have a more local source, buy it there, because Richter's
requires a minimum order of 6 plants. (But hey! With that tremendous
difference in the exchange rate - in your favour! - a US dollar goes
a lot further in Canada. Maybe you'll be able to find just those
herbs you've always wanted from them. :-))
...Sandra...
