Paul, by any chance are you zoned for small livestock; chickens, rabbits,
etc.? If so, buy a few, then wait for the cats to start predating on them
then you'll have a =legal= justification for shooting the cats that even the
"cat lady" can't touch. Furthermore, if you happen to shoot a cat with tags
on it you can go back to the owner and collect damages for any and all stock
you've lost up to that point. This works very well for the few sheepers who
winter their stock in our urban alfalfa fields and have problems with dogs.
I know one guy who got paid 3 and 4 times for lambs and ewes he lost to dogs;
made out better than if he'd not lost them and sold the wool and meat. :-)
