Yes Sir! You are correct. You can play with any of the three variables to
create DOF effects (Amount of light {FStop}, Zoom setting {focal length} or
subject to camera distance). One exercise to practice this is to set up
three objects (candles or something that stands tall), at different
distances in the same frame of video. Play with all three of your variables
(one at a time) while slating your video with audio narration to keep track
of what your settings are. This way, you can refer back to the tape
whenever you choose to duplicate an effect. Good luck. . . .
