Hello All!
First, I think that I started something which is NOT a good thing to do if
you are the moderator of an echo.
A little background:
The current version of Netscape for OS/2 is 2.02. However you can "fake"
version 3 by adding a "-3" parameter when starting Netscape. This tells
sites that you are using Netscape 3.0, not 2.02.
Second, Communicator is the code-name that Netscape is using for Netscape
4.0. Right now, there is no BETA of Communicator for OS/2. However, there
are plans to release it. I don't know when it will be released, nor does
Netscape or IBM. IT WILL BE PRODUCED AND RELEASED. Check out the Unoffical
Netscape for OS/2 Support page for further information. Please take the time
to download the Windows 3.1 version to see what it will look like. DO NOT
BECOME A PEST AND CONSTANTLY ASK IBM OR NETSCAPE WHEN IT WILL BE READY FOR
OS/2! I read on the net that it should be ready by the end of 1Q97 and be
more advanced than the Windows version when ready (we OS/2'rs are a picky
bunch!)
Third. This is what I meant to say when I stated that there is going to be a
"new" version of Netscape. There will be no "3.0" version of Netscape nor
will there be a GOLD version (to match that of available for WindowsXX). A
lot of the functions (frames, etc.) were built-in to Netscape for OS/2 2.02.
