THE FREE CHEROKEES CONFEDERATION PLEDGE
                               
     We pledge to :
     Honor and respect the traditions of all Native American people.
     Study the history,landguage and culture of my ancestral people.
     Live as simple and naturally as possible and to stay free from
     commercial pressures and the enslavement thereof.
     Surround my self with objects which will remind me of my heritage.
     Become aware of the needs of others in my community and come to
     the aid or thoes I can be of help to.
     Visit and honor at least once in my life my ancestral home and
     the remnants of my people.
     Look for ways to better the well being, reputation and the progress
     of tribal people and people around me.
     Make a quest for a vision at least once in my life and to respect
     the rights of everyone to follow his or her vision and path.
     Promote the presevation and restoration of sacred places and to
     oppose the commercialization of any peoples ceremonies places or
     objects or the desecration ancient burial sites.
     Obtain for myself the highest education both in the ways of this
     society and in the cultural heritage of my people.
     Work for the conservation and resteration or the enviroment.
     Keep free for addiction of drugs alcohol or any substance or
     behavior which would dishonor my name or that of my people.
