Julie -- so sorry you didn't find anything, but I am a strong believer that
all you need is one little break, and maybe with the search techniques you
have provided him with he'll be able to get one tidbit of information. Yes,
they are delightful people, and I think his son would be pleased if he had
these people had his parents. The natural father wants to find so badly, and
his wife is just as supportive in his efforts. I'm glad he provided you with
transportation and covered your costs. That's fantastic. Maybe the group in
Newport News can provide some help, and they may even have someone in their
group searching for him. Try all angles, I say! Don't leave a stone
unturned. Yes, we people involved in the adoption triad are not out for
"thank-you's, or reimbursement," just the knowledge that more lives have had
closure -- and we played a small part in the reunion process. I always
appreciate it when someone expresses their appreciation to me -- and it gets
me going for the next case. Our mutual friend has not phoned me yet to
convey what information he didn't find on his trip, but I assume he'll be in
touch. I think maybe he should go back to the Dept. of Social Services and
meet with the Social Worker and see if more of the non-identifying
information can be given to him. Many thanks for your efforts, and I'm glad
you had a day out and it was rewarding to be with some new folks. Marie
