Hallo Raymond,
RB>>> Well, no matter what I do and what I try, I cannot get 4DOS to call

RB>>>
RB>>> Why? What am I doing wrong?
CM>> What if you haven't specified the right path to your 4dos.ini in the

RB> Sorry, but I am not that dumb!
Sorry. I once had that problem. With a 4dos.ini left from the time when I
switched from ndos and had int in my path. Then decided to have separat
directories for each component and version, but stepped into the trap of
getting a wrong 4dos.ini when not using the "location od ini-file" directive
in the shell statement.
RB> The 4DOS.INI file and/or the SHELL statement in CONFIG.SYS would be

RB> wrong filename...
That's what I did, but didn't knew that the 4dos.ini was taken from the first
in the path and not from the directory where 4dos is started from if the
parameter is ommitted.
RB> The next time, please read the previous messages before you decide to
RB> give such stupid advice...
Here they arived in reverse order, as you by now may have recognized reading
my answers.
What I have seen by now, there isn't a mistake to stupid. You (or anybody
else including me) stumbles into all traps a software sets up. Even if you
wrote it yourself or especially when you did.
