Hi Al:

Sorry for being so late in responding.

I purchased a new GVC router to see if it would allow
protection from the 802.11 network, and after fumbling
around, I hit the right combination.

The problem was that I needed protection from the same
LAN address range. The supplier of the 802.11 system is
running 192.168.1.xx (with .99 being the gateway).

My system is also running 192.168.1.xx, so you can see my
dilemma. After installing the GVC router, it had a problem
finding the .99 gateway, I think mainly due to the fact that
he doesn't have a DNS server. One of the options in the GVC
is to go out to dyndns.org and grab a DNS server address.
After enabling this, it connects first time-every time!

I asked the owner to try and ping ANY of my internal addresses
and he couldn't. He can't even ping the WAN port of the router
after turning the ping option off.

So now I have all the computers talking to each other within
my LAN, and have two ways to connect to the internet, the
other being my cable box, using another GVC router.

The only thing that still has me puzzled is, why do they
have more than one field for a router under TCP/IP configurations?
I have both of my routers listed. The first one is the cable
box, and the second is the 802.11 system. If I unplug the cable
modem, OS/2 doesn't fall back to the 802.11 unit and all my
internet connections fail?
