Hi Marilyn,
MB>I guess to keep the Niagara stuff on topic, I'll mention the
MB>beautiful formal gardens they used to have in Niagara, Ontario. I wonder
f
MB>they still have those?
They sure do. I'm not sure if the Hydro Clock still exists - I think
they changed the shrubbery topiary a few years ago - but they do.
However, I rarely visit the Falls in the summer - in winter, when I
am most desirous of a tropical break, I visit the Niagara Parks
greenhouses. (We're planning a trip anytime now.) They not only have
spectacular specimen plants in a seasonal display, but they have a
permanently planted house with a fruiting banana, a desert section,
orchids, citrus, etc. And the last couple times I was down, they had
a long-running hummingbird "display", but the birds were free to fly
in and out of 2 or 3 houses, giving one an additional winter treat.
:-) Very refreshing change.
