My advice from personal experience is to fight the special ed class. My son
Jon was placed in one because of ADD and he is now in third grade, he barely
can read a simple senctence which is a skill obtained in first grade. I
questioned the principal and she says that in this school district they don't
hold children back a grade, they give them till the age of 21 to graduate.
My concern is my child is going to be one of those kids who graduate and
can't read...the district just doesn't seem to care.
