Hi Tom! :-) TW> To each his Own. Btu it seems to me that thay is a slightly "Short TW> Sighted" view of thew Computer Wrold. Refuce to use a Very Good TW> program just because it is NOT open Source. It's my philosophy when it comes to computing. I want to know how stuff works and sometimes I even want to modify stuff. That obviously requires to have the source code available to me. Closed source software is a secret kept at my expense (sort of). Open source software is a contribution to the growing pool of mankind's knowledge. Closed source is no such contribution. TW> Now I understand that position as it aplies ot MS junk. One of the important reasons for me to use open source is that if a program turns out to be junk, I can take a look at it and see why it is junk and if I could improve it (and if it is an important enough program for me, I would do so). TW> But with a Very Fine Program like Opera it is like "Cutting off your TW> Nose to Spite your Face"!!! Yeah, Opera seemes nice, but I wouldn't trust it unless I could take a look at the source code. Sure, it's highly unlikely that it contains stupid or even mailicous code, but then again, you can't know for sure. I think it is very good that open source browser such as Mozilla or Firebird (or Konqueror or ...) exist. That way, the knowledge required to build one is not locked property of some company that may or may not be trustworthy. Hey, if it were to belong to a company, it would even be possible that the knowledge got lost somehow... Ciao Pascal --- Msged/LNX 6.1.1* Origin: Believe in merciless fate and the kingdom of thought.
