Hello Maurice -

TW>> just because it is NOT open Source. Now I understand that
TW>> position as it aplies ot MS junk. But with a Very Fine
TW>> Program like Opera it is like "Cutting off your Nose to
TW>> Spite your Face"!!!

MK> I can't speak for the Windows version but there are some
MK> problems with rendering web pages in the Linux version of
MK> Opera. However, compared to Firebird, Opera is smaller and
MK> faster.

With the WWW top-heavy with graphics 'smaller and faster' is
good.

MK> Also I only took Firebird out for one cruise around the
MK> block so I am not positive that it has problems with
MK> certain sites, but the ones I did visit are the ones I most
MK> commonly visit and Firebird was of a noticable higher
MK> quality in rendering those particular sites.

I'm not seeing what you are seeing but I run in 32 bit True
Color here.

MK> So I suppose it comes down to which you prefer, quality or
MK> speed/size.

The quality seems the same (to me) so I opt for speed. :-)

MK> Myself I am sticking with links but that is because I live
MK> on the console commandline. Until those browsers can live
MK> in this enviroment they will never be competitive here.
MK> But then again I am only one user. I was just curious after
MK> all the talk here so had to check it out for myself. I am
MK> no longer curious.

Are you aware of LINKS(2) that can do either graphical or
text-only browsing?
