DB> BS> Or, you can do what I do: Copy TELEMATE.DOC over the
DB> BS> TM.HLP file in your
DB> BS> Telemate directory. This will mean [F1] will bring up your Telemate
DB>main
DB> BS> docs. You can then use [F4] and [F5] to search, and
DB> BS> you still have the Edit
DB> BS> and View windows free.
DB>Great Idea. I'd like to zip that suggestion into the telemate package on
y
DB>BBS.
DB>Now, having done this, I find the viewer insists on openning every time on
DB>line 150, which is the part of the index starting with "Log files" (I have
DB>perversely placed the index where it can be read at the top of the file)
DB>I did try editing the file from within Tmate, and the next time it
ppenned
DB>around line 250, next time the whole file looked like garbled junk, which
DB>fortunately went away next time I started the program, at which time I was
DB>back to openning at line 150. Apparently leaving the help screen at the
DB>beginning before exiting does not help.
Depends on which window you are in, Telemate will open the Help window
at different line number. So if you added some text into the help file,
please make sure that you delete the same amount of blank lines under
the same topic so that that the topic keep in the same position. Usually,
a topic start at 50, 150, 200, 250 etc.
It is generally not a good idea to replace some files in a ZIP file and
repackage it since it destory the author's Authenticity Verification.
You may want to offer it as a separate file or make it a TM412-5.ZIP and
tell the user what this TM412-5.ZIP is.
