Quote from the SoundBlaster Developer Kit:
An application interfaces with CTMMSYS via the entry-point of the CTMMSYS
driver. The entry-point of CTMMSYS is expected to be invoked with a far
call, with function arguments pushed onto the stack in Pascal calling
convention, ie. from left to right.
SB supplies .qlb's, include files, some assembly interface, and the whole
ball of wax necessary to use the drivers.
I'm not into all of that right now. Altho I have the developer's
kit, I am trying to learn how to use the interrupts and ports to
bypass their drivers like you did with your CDROM player. The kit
requires that you use their libraries.
By the way, I posted a SUB to control the audio from your program.
Did you get it?
If you are interested, I could post the Mixer chip registers for the
registers my SUB uses. All I programed were the Left/right volume
registers, but you can control midi, line, CD, bass, treble and more
inputs/outputs, with a routine like my SUB.
I'm using your program along with my sub, to control my CD audio
all the time. Actually I like it better than the SB mixer program
and leave it running in a QB window and switch back & forth to
control it.
If there is anything specific you need to know from the SB books
that I have, I'd be glad to post it, if I can dig it out of the
books. It would be too big a can of worms to just start posting
general info from it.
