I think the first one I had was 16MHz.  I had a C compiler on there which I
was starting to warm up to given that Solaris on the Sparc's, which is what
I wanted to communicate with via a 2400 baud modem, and C got along pretty
good.  Also some of the early math scriptors for DOS were C syntax so it
made more sense to me to go with that at the time.  As it turns out that
was a really good idea.
