 I have a very unbiased opinion. Here is why: I use both. I have an USB
 Lexmark Z32 side by side with a Canon 4000. Both will do colours and
 are about the same speed in printing. The Lexmark gave me a hassle when
 getting it to be a Network printer, the Canon was like a hot knife in
 melted butter. I have been unable to refill the Lexmark tanks with any
 success when the Canon is still using its original black tank, BC-02,
 after 5 years. that Canon broke a spindle in the head entrainement, I
 replaced it with a section of a 4" nail, still going.

 Different folks or YMMV.
