AH> Manitoba, eh?? That's quite a long haul. Good for you.... :-)
I was more than pleased to know how I could last.

Doesn't that always seem the case? Flowers vs. fertilizer.

In the grand scheme of things, I'd pack to do it tomorrow, but with
other company.
There's a good reason I would go skiing with a friend I meet that day,
or solo. Something about the personality of a person really shows up
when you're in a moment of peril. If there's a personality you don't
know beside you, things are much more interesting than if you have the
local sourpuss/disaster on legs - I find myself really short with. On
dry level ground, one can administer appropriate slaps upside the head,
that would just be nonsensical when one's halfway into a disaster.

Wouldn't it be nice to live in a perfect world? What's your postal
code there? I want to invest in *that* real-estate! O-8*
No, she'll likely walk down the isle with a bit of baggage, but I'm not
as worried as mom is. She's a more solid human than you'd first
imagine. Now, I did tell her about hypothermia and how it mixes with
alcohol, but only after she was bragging about an all-night bush party
in the winter.
Sure, I got the dumb stare, and a "I thought you'd be proud of me for
being able to drink all night in the middle of winter." look. Now,
maybe she'll think twice before she does her next dumb thing. Whatever
happens happens.
If I get a frantic call from the cousin one day, I'll pack the car and
be on my way in a day or two, but I'm starting to think more kids
should be having kids, while they still know everything.
